Hey guys, how are you, how has 2022 started off for you both?

Hello Deep House London! It’s safe to say that 2022 started in the best way for us. To be able to collaborate with The Weeknd brought out a tsunami of emotions for us, and it has given us the opportunity to be recognised on a larger scale. After this achievement, we put out our beloved ‘The Mirage’ EP on Afterlife and our remix for ’Nothing Like You’ Stephan Bodzin’s track. So, considering we are still in February, we can’t ask for more…or maybe not!!! 🙂

When did you first meet, why did you decide to work together?

It’s already more than 8 years that we work shoulder to shoulder, but it feels like it was yesterday the first day we met. The first day we met each other was at a local party here in Bari, Italy (our hometown). After that we decided to join our efforts producing music and spent hours and hours trying to construct our own musical identity. For us, the main part of that is still alive as is the pleasure of making music without any pressure, and always just for the joy of it all!

How has it evolved over the years? Do you each have your own roles in the studio?

Actually we we have specific roles that best enhance our propensities. The best ingredient for a successful project is to validate every single meaning of what we want to do. For this reason, we prefer to put all our energies into what we do best. There’s a specific moment to improve the weaker sides of each of us, and there’s also a moment where the work requires you to be fast and precise.

And what inspired your new “The Mirage” EP on Afterlife – what was in mind when you wrote it?

The Mirage was born during last summer (2021). We were in the studio, as always, trying to make some beats and all of a sudden the main melody came to us. For us it felt like a mirage in the desert as we had just finished recording a lot of new music so inspiration was a bit low. We became overwhelmed by the beauty and powerfulness of the melody, then it was very easy for us to finish the track in just a couple of days.

How do you work, do you have an idea in your head you work towards, or do you just experiment and jam and see what happens?

Our approach with the music changed greatly over the past years. In the beginning of our career we used to jam a lot in the studio (we remember memorable jam sessions up to 15 hours long). This approach point out that we were just following the vibe, waiting the end of the jam to save some stems and maybe have some material to work on for a final recording. But in the last few years we’ve grown to become more specific in what we want, and often are coming in the studio with a specific idea regarding melodies or specific arrangement.

What gear do you use currently, does that matter to you?

AOT’s studio is equipped with a lot of gear at the moment. Our latest addition is the Prophet 5 (which sounds amazing for us). But of course we have our mainstays like the Access Virus Ti2 Desktop which is what is primarily use for our music arrangement. We often use the OB-6 which gives us the warmth we need for pads and leads.

What else have you got coming up/are you working on?

We have a number of singles lined up on Kompakt to guide our fans through the summer, leading to something very special for us. It’s an important milestone for Agents Of Time, and we are very proud to present a new chapter of our music on a legendary label.

After achieving so much already what do you still have as goals and targets for your career?

We think there’s no limit to our growth and we constantly want to give back to our fans. It was great to work with The Weeknd and hope that we have the opportunity to do so again. We hope to continue working with other contemporary pop acts and working more with our community of friends and musicians in the near future.
