Welcome to Deep House London! How are things with you?

All is doing great!! We are heading towards the end of the nightmarish covid.

Can you tell us a bit about your journey to get to where you are today? When did you first fall in love with dance music and what was the moment you realised you wanted it to be your career?

The first sign was in 2006 after attending a Louis Vega set in NYC. It was a revelation for me because since that day, everything became clear in my head. Music was the thing that was meant for me in this wide world.

Tell us about your new single ‘When You’re Back’ – what inspired or influenced it, where and when and who was it written for?

Working on “when you’re back” was smooth. Fabio Aurea and I shared the same musical vision and influences. Coco fed it all with her beautiful voice. I made the first version, Fabio made a second one and after several listenings, we mixed the two versions for an optimal result. The goal was to have a piece with depth, whether with the music or with the lyrics. We are very satisfied with the result and had a lot of good feedback.

How did you link up with Fabio Aurea and Coco for this?

I have known Fabio for quite some time but we had never worked together. This time was a very good opportunity and we took it. For Coco, I came across a video on Instagram where she was singing and I really liked her voice. “When you’re back” was a project where the passion for music was at the forefront.

Do you jam live to see what comes out or do you construct your songs with a brief and an aim?

I prefer to play the track live because I think that’s the best way to refine it. People’s reaction will always be the best indication.

Why was GĒNĒTIC that right label for this single?

I decided to create GENETIC so it could be a label dedicated to my music and my collaborations. I think it’s the best way to express my creativity.

Do you make the tunes you want to play in your own sets, is there a direct link like that?

Of course. The pleasure of playing my tracks in front of the world comes from seeing them enjoying it. It’s one of the greatest satisfactions as a music producer. Afterwards, I guess that other artists playing your music shows the quality of the work.

What are the ingredients for the perfect party in your opinion?

The greatest night for me is when the audience is in osmosis with what you’re doing. It’s like we’re all in a different dimension together and that nothing can happen to us. Our job as DJ’s is to ensure our audience get the most out of their experience, so if the public is having a great time, you have the best party.

What else have you got coming up/are you working on?

The covid period has helped me a lot to finalize my pending projects. usually, it is very difficult to find time to manage everything. I had time to finalize a lot of remixes and personal projects, and that allowed me to organise my releases. I have outings every month until December, something I had never been able to do before.

Finally, what is the most important item on your rider?

The quality of the monitors! If they’re good, then everything else will be good 🙂
