Describe 3 seminal moments in Senso Sounds existence?
I try to evolve Senso step-by-step, maybe similar to my personal career as an artist. The journey is the destination. The success of Senso is based on many little pieces which mesh like a puzzle – and it’s not finished yet which means it’s difficult to mention three groundbreaking moments which changed everything.
Most disappointing moment in Senso Sounds existence?
We had this super 10th anniversary release of the Techno classic ‘Track 10:30’ by D-Saw, including fantastic new remixes by H.O.S.H. and Re.You but unfortunately it didn’t work out very well. I still have no idea what happened and I’m frustrated about the fact that all artists gave their best to make a great record and it simply didn’t work out.
Describe Senso Sounds album artwork?
All of our Senso Sounds artworks are hand-drawn by Anne Marie Pappas from Hamburg. We try to create something unique and at the same time a high degree of recognition!
Best Senso Sounds showcase?
I’d say our Senso showcase during Sonar Off Week Barcelona 2016 was the one. The party took part on the terrace of the Zero Diagonal Hotel with the brightest sunshine and turned into a heavy rain dance party. I had the feeling the rain made the people even more crazy. That party was for the books.
Dream Senso Sounds artist?
If I look at our current releases and artists over the past few months and years, I must say I’m very proud how Senso Sounds has developed so far. To be honest, I don’t have anybody in mind as ’dream artist’. In the end our focus is on the music, not so much on the artist.
Most important business/music app/program/software?
I still stuck with the fantastic Logic software in the studio. After all these years it’s very handy and the sound is great.
Longest Day(s) ever worked?
Working as a DJ and as a Label-owner - not only me but also my team behind Senso Sounds – we have a full time job. We never stop working. When it comes to gigs, my longest nonstop dj-set took about 14 hours.
Upcoming projects?
After a pretty busy and promising 2016 with lots of releases such as my latest single ”Humano” and the ”Retrospectivo” album of my collab with Dubfire, André Winter’s ”Argo & Norse EP”, Hatzler as one one of the hottest newcomers and the success of ”Elements remixed” by Julian Jeweil and Joseph Capriati, next year seems like it will be huge as well. We’re really looking forward for the next release coming from Victor Ruiz called “Red Lights” which is the one after his recent release ”Nevermind” including a remix by myself. ”Red Lights” and ”Nevermind” – both singles will be available also on vinyl by the end of January 2017. In addition, I hope to finish my next album very soon. The flow in the studio is going pretty well and it’s almost done.
