There is a clubbing revolution going on in Asia and the launch of Mumu clubhouse is a core part of it. The breathtaking venue is set on the biggest lagoon waterpark in Thailand.

As soon as you arrive you are greeted by welcoming staff who greet you with canopies and drinks and from there things only get more special. The venue is by day a place to rally and recuperate under a blazing sun with soft white sand underfoot, but it is the night time opening that we were here to check out.

As soon as the sun disappears and the stars come out things get freaky and the beats begin to flow. They slow and deep to start and slowly ramp up as the place fills out with a great, diverse crowd of people from all over the world. They know their music so waste no time in getting down and making for a lush atmosphere from the off.

The wooden deck floor is a great acoustic accompaniment to the state of the art D&B Audiotechnik sound system which delivers every beat as it should be. All around are warming lights that are sympathetic to the setting as towering palm trees hang down and give that steamy jungle feel to proceedings. A key part of any great event is always going to be the residents, and the Mumu residents very much set a superb tone with the tasteful sounds. Leo G, Meltmode & Psynus, Rec ’N Cue & Wildealer and Zoárd all laid out their own signature sounds but there was plenty of cohesion between them and the main act to ensure the smoothest of progressions throughout the night.

Of course the main draw was Jamie Jones, an Ibiza legend and globe trotting star who unleashed a masterclass of groovy tech house. It was a classic sound from the much loved talent and as well as fresh new beats he also teased the loving crowd with classics such ‘Hungry For The Power’ that got great reactions.

When not dancing there is plenty of opportunity to chill in the organic and bespoke cabanas as you gaze out to the gorgeous surroundings. There are fantastic cocktails that look as special as they taste and in the day high class food made from fresh ingredients keeps you well fueled. All in all this was a special opening and is surely the start of something magical for Mumu. If you go abroad once this year for a dance music experience, make sure it is to the unreal Mumu which offers a party paradise like no there and has several big events planned throughout 2024 including Thailand’s Biggest Pool Party for Songkran Water Festival.
