5 Classic Sets: Omar S
There are few more widely respected producers than Omar-S. The Detroit native has a real sense of attitude that always carries over in his tracks, whether they are raw and head wrecking techno cuts or camp, hands in the air party house tunes. They almost exclusively come via his own FXHE label and as a DJ he runs a similarly wide gamut, from darker grooves to more fun, funky and r&b-flecked sounds.
He plays emotive music in a loose, instinctive way and never fails to fill the floor. He is sure to do so again between September 28th and 30th when he heads to Spain to play the return of Into the Valley festival with the likes of Floating Points, DJ Seinfeld, Larry Heard, Schatrax, Svek and many more in the ancient Castillo Sohail — ahead of this we take a look back at five classic Omar sets.
