[Playlist] Seminal Lost Records From Its Core Fam
Since debuting in 2012, the UK duo quickly rose the House and Techno ranks with their distinct breed of dancefloor focused cuts. One year later they launched Lost Records, kick-starting the discography with a release by Darius Syrossian. Reflecting on four years, Lost Records has now hosted artists such as Solardo, Josh Butler, Latmun, Wade, Jey Kurmis, Cera Alba, and many more.
Meanwhile, Leftwing & Kody themselves have made appearances on Relief, Truesoul, Knee Deep In Sound, Kaluki, VIVa, and now Solid Grooves Records. With the 50th release out now we got some of the core family at Lost Records to each provide their singe favorite tune from the label. What are your favorite Lost Records tracks?

PAWSA’s first release on Lost was pretty special, particularly the lead track ‘Pilot’. It was so different to anything else at the time, so it really stood out for us which is why we decided to sign it. The first time we played it out we knew we were on to something big.
Wade’s remix of Seff’s ‘Manana’ was a track we hammered for months in our sets. That was a real standout remix for the label. Wade has gone on to be a well respected artist with his own sound that you can hear in this track which has the trademark Wade stamp on it.

My favourite release was ‘Keep Ya Head Up’ by Phillip Bader. It featured an impressive 6 tracks, including three solid originals and remixes by Detlef, PAWSA and Kalyde. It was really hard to pick a favourite and I ended up playing four out the six tracks! Looking back I would say my pick was Kalyde’s version; his vocal cut just shouts out, nicely layered with those analogue techno stabs. Still a floor destroyer!
My choice has to be System2’s remix of Raffa FL’s ‘Riddim’–I remember hearing it in Lightbox one morning, It’s a proper groovy tune!

The track I’m choosing is going to have to be Sacha Robotti & Kevin Knapp ‘Stay With It’, which I first dropped on the Terrace in Egg, London. I’ve always loved Kevin’s style and this is full of his character; nice chord stabs, quirky use of synthesis and a nice rolling groove.
