{"id":19788,"date":"2015-06-12T20:56:30","date_gmt":"2015-06-12T18:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.deephouseamsterdam.com\/?p=19788"},"modified":"2015-06-12T20:56:30","modified_gmt":"2015-06-12T18:56:30","slug":"croatian-island-acquired-by-uk-promoter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deephouseamsterdam.com\/london\/croatian-island-acquired-by-uk-promoter\/","title":{"rendered":"Croatian Island Acquired By UK Promoter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The world&#8217;s first curated entertainment island destination is well on its way to being a reality thanks to UK promoters Sound Channel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The crew behind\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/unknowncroatia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unknown Festival<\/a><\/strong>, which ran between 2013-2014 (continuing in 2016) and featured acts like Disclosure and Chvrches, have bought the island of <strong>Obonjan\u00a0<\/strong>off the Croatian coast,\u00a0near the city of <strong>Sibenik<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In partnership with Croatian operating company <strong>Gratiosus<\/strong>, the island will host music and entertainment events with an eco-friendly approach beginning in the summer of 2016.\u00a0<em>We\u2019ve been working on this project for three years which has given us time to carefully refine our ideas,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0proclaimed Sound Channel\u2019s <strong>Dan Blackledge<\/strong>. <em>\u201cOur vision for the island of Obonjan is to regenerate the island and turn it into a truly unique concept, combining art and music, wellness, sustainable living, amazing food and drink and fun and creative accommodation, all on an idyllic island paradise.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Over the\u00a0past decade or so, Croatia has become an electronic music hotspot, with many events hosted by promoters outside of the country.
