{"id":26274,"date":"2015-12-31T10:23:59","date_gmt":"2015-12-31T09:23:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.deephouseamsterdam.com\/?p=26274"},"modified":"2015-12-31T10:23:59","modified_gmt":"2015-12-31T09:23:59","slug":"uk-police-warn-against-dangerous-lion-xtc-pill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deephouseamsterdam.com\/london\/uk-police-warn-against-dangerous-lion-xtc-pill\/","title":{"rendered":"UK Police Warn Against Dangerous &#8216;Lion&#8217; XTC Pill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Just ahead of New Year&#8217;s Eve an official warning has been issued\u00a0against the &#8216;Dutch Lion&#8217; XTC tablet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The pill, marked by a unique \u2018lion\u2019 or \u2018griffin\u2019 emblem, is shaped like a shield and contains extreme doses of MDMA.\u00a0John Milburn, 19, died in an ambulance on its way to hospital, after emergency services responded to a call from Nation nightclub in Liverpool. Andrew Glaister, age 47, has also died and is suspected to stem from similar circumstances at the same nightclub.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Chief Inspector Mark Kameen made a statement, saying: \u201c<em>We have launched a comprehensive investigation into the tragic deaths of these two men. At this stage of the investigation, we are exploring a number of lines of enquiry, one being that they may be drug-related. We are speaking with friends of both victims alongside staff and management from Nation nightclub, to establish the full circumstances surrounding the movements of both men that night.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Both deaths are being treated as \u201cunexplained\u201d by police until they can recover and test the fatal batch of tablets.<\/p>\n<p>Kameen concluded his statement on a rather pointless\u00a0advisory note towards NYE clubbers and party goers: <em>&#8220;We recognise our city\u2019s nightclubs and bars will be busy over the coming days, especially on New Year\u2019s Eve and I would like to remind people <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not to take any illegal drugs<\/span>.\u00a0You don\u2019t know what\u2019s in them or how they are going to affect you.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/police-issue-warning-over-batch-10663927\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool Echo<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just ahead of New Year&#8217;s Eve an official warning has been issued\u00a0against the &#8216;Dutch Lion&#8217; XTC tablet.
