{"id":35756,"date":"2016-09-07T02:42:23","date_gmt":"2016-09-07T00:42:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.deephouseamsterdam.com\/london\/?p=35756"},"modified":"2016-09-07T02:42:23","modified_gmt":"2016-09-07T00:42:23","slug":"fabric-remains-closed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deephouseamsterdam.com\/london\/fabric-remains-closed\/","title":{"rendered":"Fabric To Remain Closed Following License Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Early Wednesday morning the Islington Council officially revoked London club fabric&#8217;s license, sending it into a state of permanent closure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With representatives from fabric, <strong>Islington Public Health Authority, Islington License Authority<\/strong> and the <strong>Met Police<\/strong> on hand, the 6+ hour hearing at Islington Town Hall ended with the proclamation of <em>&#8220;<strong>A culture of drugs exists at the club which management cannot control,<\/strong>&#8220;<\/em> from committee chair <strong>Flora Williamson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Back in August, following the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deephouseamsterdam.com\/london\/fabric-close-this-weekend-in-light-of-drugs\/\">drug related deaths<\/a> of two 18 year old males, fabric&#8217;s operational license was revoked, yielding a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deephouseamsterdam.com\/london\/help-save-fabric-petition\/\">global petition<\/a> for its saving. Even London&#8217;s mayor Sadiq Khan and Islington South and Finsbury MP Emily Thornberry have addressed the issue publicly. <\/p>\n<p>The ruling ultimately means that fabric&#8217;s 17 year run at the forefront of London&#8217;s underground scene has come to a decidedly unceremonious end.
