Serge Proshe is a producer on the rise — just as anyone who’s sampled this latest EP, released via Go Deeva Records, will surely attest. The rich musical tradition of the old Ukrainian song inspired the producer to create these compositions, and they’re not lacking in brilliance either. Lead track “Workit” is a lullaby about a cat that purrs, which for hundreds of years Ukrainian women have been singing it to their babies. And this song is filled with the love and warmth of a mother’s heart.

With Bandura, Proshe combined the sound of the Ukrainian string instrument Bandura with and Afro sound, with incredible results too. CAomplimenting the latter is a remix by none other than Jean Vayat, who leaves his own inimitable style on matters. Make no mistake: this is a musical journey across two continents in search of real groove.
