What first strikes you about MEET Festival<\/strong> the event from the cult Yet Records<\/strong> team, is the setting. It is a real dreamlike and luxury spot in the Caribbean<\/strong> that is backed in sun. It has trig palm trees, green-blue seas and perfect beaches. All in all it is the sort of Vip and luxury spot that makes any holiday special.<\/p>\n

The hotel too – the Raddison Blu<\/strong> – was beyond lush with a concierge, private pool, sun loungers and all inclusive deals offering food that is locally sourced around the clock, and special cocktails that are also amazing. Everyone we met – from the happy smiling attendees to the welcoming staff and the super amenable Yet Records team – added to the whole inclusive and relaxed vibe for the whole event.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday<\/strong> things were warmed up nicely with groove driven sets from the likes of Sergio Bennet<\/strong>. He is the A&R of YET records so brought some classy sounds that got us right in the mood. On Thursday<\/strong> there was a magical boat part<\/strong>y that set sail to a remote part of Punta Cana that was a real escapist heaven. Milou<\/strong> and up and coming act Zetsen<\/strong> played a lovely party that was packed with hypnotic sounds and lush synths from the more minimal end of the spectrum.<\/p>\n

Friday<\/strong> was the big one when the beach parties started with the highlight being Themba<\/strong>. The South Africa is the man behind there global Afro-hous smash ‘Who Is Themba?’ and is a leading light from the Afro house scene. He showed why with deep, spine tingling sounds. On Saturday<\/strong> Shaun Reeves<\/strong> warmed things through at the start with a really cool deep house set, then the highlight was Danny Serrano\u00a0<\/strong>who performed to a packed beach of loving dancers who lapped up his every mix and Dennis Ferrer<\/strong> then brought some extra energy to close the night out with a real party vibe.<\/p>\n

Sunday<\/strong> was closed out at the superb Clover Club<\/strong> with Sergio himself again stepping up to lay down a masterclass in Yet sounds and send us all home happy. In short, this is a once in a lifetime event with world class sounds and a perfect setting. We are already looking forward to 2023.<\/p>\n
