Hey guys! It\u2019s a pleasure to have you here with us. <\/b><\/span>How has 2023 been for you so far?\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

2023 is gonna be one for the books! <\/span>We launched 2smile after many years of working on our own sound undercover. Now we\u2019re more than ready: it\u2019s time 2Smile. Also, the number 23 is magic for us and means a lot during our musical relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n

Congrats on the release of your new EP \u00abFr33D0m\u00bb on your own label Ondawey Music. What was your inspiration behind this record?\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

First able to Thank U \ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/span>To be honest with you this track came from a funny story that we must keep secret so it will stay just between us ahahahah; More seriously let\u2019s say this EP claims for us the freedom spirit of expression. Diversity makes sense. For that reason, we try to explore several aspects of different electronic music genres.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you meet, and whose idea was it to create this new duo project 2smile?\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

We met a long time ago as music producers and Rave Party promoters in the early Hard Techno French underground movement all over France the E.U. and more. <\/span>Then before the covid, we started to share more different musical ideas and spend time in a studio trying various stuff. When the lockdown started, we decided to seriously write music together… <\/span>At the end of the lockdown, we had like 30 tracks already done and mastered by Lenny Ibizarre from Axis Mundi Studios in Ibiza. Just after that we also find our artist\u2019s name 2Smile and launch our label to be independent. Now we\u2019re ready to release one EP each month for a few next years, collaborate with as many people as possible, and maybe place tracks on a few other labels too.<\/span><\/p>\n

In which circumstances did you first get into Music Production and DJ\u2019ing?\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

We started Dj\u2019ing when we were 17<\/span>th<\/sup><\/span> at some free rave parties in the south of France. <\/span>Then we moved into music production a few years later producing Hard Techno music mostly. We released more than 100 different records on that style on our older labels playing Dj sets or Live acts all over E.U. those last past years and even today.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are some musical influences that you believe have shaped your sound?\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

A lot! Mostly psychedelic music influences rock, punk, rap, and even classical shits also. But few people were important in our music production process as Dr. Dre, Fela Kuti, Quincy, The Funk Brothers, or The Neptunes. <\/span>We approach the music more as a producer than as real musicians.<\/span><\/p>\n

Can you name some of the instruments or plugins that you believe define your sound?\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Definitely our Moog Voyager, Pro2, and Maschine Komplete plugs but also the samples that we decide to use on our sounds like breakbeats, strong vocals, and spiritual speeches.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do you define success? Is it strictly about numbers, or is there more to it?\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Success means recognition from the culmination of our efforts and to serve to spread our values.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now that \u00abFr33D0m\u00bb is out, what is next for 2smile?\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Next is on May, 19<\/span>th<\/sup><\/span> for our next release that\u2019s gonna be massive including our first video clip shot in the Grand Canyon, US. You\u2019d better be ready for it guys\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

We hope someone, somewhere, will feel a lot of positive emotions listening to our music. According to us, Music is at a high level of consciousness, Music needs us to exist and we need music to live. Music is the mother of Love and the Universe and Music will save everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n
