Dutch producer The Close Up mysteriously popped up out of nowhere in mid-2013. With his dreamy but catchy first release ‘Better With You’ he’s all set to put himself on the electronic music map. Now, as a part of the Exploited family, his next goal is to keep the releases coming and building on his name in the coming year.
The Close Up’s style can be described as funky, with deep synth riffs, gnarling bass lines, and with some disco-influences here and there. Eclectic, to say the least. It certainly pleases the crowd, as we have seen for ourselves a couple of weeks ago, when we had him on the line up at our returning SUBFIX party. Now you can hear this budding newcomer’s sound yourself through this excellent mix that he’s dropped off on our doorstep.
Speaking of Exploited: the imprint is returning to Amsterdam very soon for a special Valentine’s Day Showcase at Dhoem Dhaam Warehouse. This will be a February must!
