This week’s mixtape honours are for Tigerskin, the alter ego of German DJ/producer Alex Krüger aka Dub Taylor. Known as the producer of Phonique and a lot of other well-known artists around, this heavyweight also took some time to do dozens and dozens of own releases and remixes over the last twenty years. His Berlinesque versatility is perfectly portrayed in this mix he just dropped off at our office. PLAY!
While Dub Taylor is his alias known for the more dubbier influenced side of techno, Tigerskin is best known for his deep and housey ventures. He releases on labels like Dessous, Suol, Mood Music, Dirt Crew Rec or his own Organic Domain imprint. Some of his tracks where licensed to the Mix CD’s like Steve Bugs Bugnology, Slams Sci Fi Hi Fi 5 or Ministry of Sound’s “Clubbers Guide to Berlin”. Born and bred in Berlin, Tigerskin has been carefully developing his deep & forward thinking house signature since he was a teenager. Solidly entrenched in Berlin’s underground club scene and boasting a growing global following, he plays an important role in shaping and producing numerous tracks and releases for some of Europe’s more discerning record labels. His motivation behind the live p.a. or in the studio has been to always add a new wrinkle to dance music’s vibrant fabric, as can be heard through this equally vibrant mix.
