In the last two to three years Olivier Weiter has grown from an obscure DJ into an established name in the Amsterdam scene. With his dream-woven sets characterised by Olivier’s brand of accessible deep techno, he has hypnotising many a dancefloor in and outside the Netherlands.

Honing his skills in Haarlem’s Club Stalker – also school to his close friend and colleague Miss Melera – it wasn’t before long that he was picked up by bookers and promotors in Amsterdam. Within remarkably little time a lot had happened that would kickstart Olivier’s career into a bigger league. Next to becoming a regular at various recurring events and festivals, he also began working of his own concept WEITER, where he is able to share his individual expression and philosophy of sound. The concept was introduced through his musically unforgettablesold-out, solo shows at Paradiso, Amsterdam’s notorious pop-venue, as well as hosting his own WEITER stage at Mysteryland 2013 and Amsterdam Open Air 2014.

But next to his escapades in his home country, he’s also become a welcomed guest in Germany, where he has brought his sessions to clubs such as Wilde Renate, Kater Holzig, Watergate and Loft Club. There is another connection to Germany as well, in the form of his support for Papa during Audio Obscura’s Sven Väth At Concertgebouw last year.

On the production side, things are coming along now as well. He’s got a brand new upcoming EP on Einmusika: ‘Takkie’, due this November. And he’s already shown potential after his earlier releases like Angelus on Parquet Recordings, which was featured on the DeepDish Essential Mix, and releases on Sudbeat and Armada.
