Mario Basanov is a name that is starting to become familiar to many nowadays. He’s already a champion in his home country Lithuania, where he’s won the ‘Producer of the Year Award’ back in 2011. His sound is diverse, never letting himself be categorized in a specific genre. Whether it’s Deep House, to Disco or Electro, Basanov has a talent for making it sound unique and, most of all, very danceable. He hooked us up with a fresh mix so we can show you exactly what we mean.
Back in 2009 Mario Basanov showed his love for Deep House to the world through his first releases ‘Do You Remember’ and the Balearic beauty ‘Caribean Girl’, still able to make a crowd go nuts to this day. What followed afterwards were a string of underground hits such as ‘I’ll be gone’, ‘Who’s shot the silence?’ and ‘Changed’, all becoming internationally recognised. And not just recognised by the party crowd. Artists too are eager to display their love for his music. Solomun, Tensnake, Maceo Plex and Soul Clap are all fans of mr. Basanov.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live a couple of times and I can truly say that this man is equally impressive behind the decks as he is in the studio. Always creating a watertight show, luring crowds under his spell all over the world. From Australia to Croatia, UK to Mexico and the US, the Lithuanian is booked across the globe to lay down his sonic delight.
He’ll drop by in Amsterdam for the Needwant Records ADE Special at BARKODE, where he will be the icing on the cake, on an already amazing line-up, featuring Ejeca, The Mekanism, Jay West and locals Prunk and PONY among others.
