This year, on 3 September, Pleinvrees Festival goes down in Amsterdam and today the organization drops its full lineup, new artwork AND a new website.
Divided amongst five stages, Pleinvrees Festival’s stellar lineup consists of many familiar, as well as new faces. Amongst the five, two stages will be hosted by special guests including Berlin label Katermukke and yours truly, DHA.
In other Pleinvrees news, Lithuanian performer Ten Walls will also join the lineup after a year of well known controversy. Pleinvrees and DHA think that, in the organization’s free spirit, as well as the dance scene’s, to give him a second chance. On the topic, you can find Pleinvrees official statement HERE (In Dutch).
As for DHA, we are in agreement,
“Ten Walls has been away for over a year now after his homophobic rant. A chance for him to come to senses, where he was taken as example that intolerance isn’t accepted within the music scene. The things he said don’t fit within the free spirit of the dance music industry and neither in spirit of Pleinvrees or ours. On the other hand banning someone for life wouldn’t be open minded either, that’s why we believe a second chance is in place here. It’s up to Ten Walls now to show the world differently and that he is ready to take part in the industry again with the open mind and free spirit that this music scene encapsulates”.
On a lighter notes, Pleinvrees is also taking this opportunity to unveil a new brand identity with an extensive makeover of its logo and a brand new website. Still colorful, crazy, free, and open to interpretation, the new Pleinvrees continues its tradition while also moving forward.
