Set to release via JEUDI Rec, Bird of Paradise aka Jo Howard hits up a remix of the young Berlin-based producer Raphael Hofman’s Susurrus EP.
Acting as part of Jennifer Cardini‘s Correspondent imprint, New York’s Throne of Blood, and Japanese label Blindetonation, Bird of Paradise is a young UK producer on a fast track to prominence. Growing up with a heavy dose of punk-rock, Jo’s eclectic taste is the driving element to his production. As a DJ, he’s known for running his Cubik party in Sunderland, and his residency at Man Power‘s Tourist Party series in neighboring Newcastle. Doing such has afforded him the opportunity to play alongside luminaries such as Todd Terje, John Talabot, Daniel Avery, and Ivan Smagghe. On top of that, he’s soon to put out his ‘Oathbreaker‘ EP via Tronik Youth and Jonah Considine‘s label Nein Records.
The Susurrus EP is the product of the young Dutch-German talent Raphael Hofman – a producer following up his debut from Hamburg-based label – Save Room. Bird of Paradise’s remix features a dark 80s-Italo inspired cinematic soundscape cut up by gentle percussion, warping acid lines and a crisp kick. Also featured on the record is Kris Davis, Portsmouth’s emotive, analog-techno producer who has been rising since his first exposure to the scene in 2014.
Susurrus EP will be available July 18th via JEUDI Records.
