Like last year on December 30, Straf_Werk will hold its closing party at Transformatorhuis, Westerunie and Westerliefde to close of the year in style, one day before everybody else. For the occasion they have called up a league of extraordinary gentlemen to come and pay tribute to 2014. What to expect? Nothing but the finest local acts – GERD, De Sluwe Vos, Job Jobse, Prunk – and a cool selection of international hotshots as well like George Fitzgerald, Agoria, Patrick Topping and an artist that might not ring a bell just yet, but who has been on the right track as an artist for a while now: Cristoph.
Cristoph is starting to make quite a stir in England at the moment. The talented up-and-comer is expected to be up to big things in the future. His DJ sets and productions range from Deep House to Techno, integrating heavy bass lines with quality, uplifting melodies, appealing to a broad spectrum of fans.
Brought up listening to his Fathers Motown vinyl and his older brothers Chicago and Detroit House cassettes, Cristoph’s love of music started at a young age and grew rapidly from there. After hearing music from the likes of Masters at Work and Marc ‘MK’ Kinchen, his interest in dance music was cemented. In his teens Cristoph messed around with instruments and different production equipment, but by the time he was old enough to experience club culture firsthand he made the realization that DJing was the true vehicle in which to deliver his music. Heavy practice have enabled him to reap the rewards with recent bookings in Ibiza and across Europe, and labels and fellow producers all starting to take notice of his productions that have hit major labels such as NOIR, DFTD and Underground Audio.
As the Dutch aren’t yet familiar with his talents except for the two ADE events that he played in 2013 and 2014, Straf_Werk will be the perfect stage to get mutually acquainted. We’re looking forward to it.
