This past weekend 5,000 attendee’s donned inflatable alligators and sailor hats to celebrate the end of summer in Palm Springs, a California oasis in the middle of Palm Desert. Bungalup Belgium, the Southern spin-off of the Netherlands’ wildly popular Bungalup event, has just announced the first names. Topping the bill to much surprise is techno kingpin Derrick May, along with Belgium-based DJ/producer Aeroplane and Dutch DJs from a variety of musical styles. From the 11th to the 14th of March, Center Parcs De Vossemeren in Lommel (which will be entirely rented out to Bungalup for this weekend) will be turned into an adult’s playground for the debut edition of Bungalup Belgium. Last Saturday saw Buiten Westen Festival hosting its fourth edition at Westerpark, a stone’s throw away from the Amsterdam city centre. The sold-out event covered six stages where visitors could enjoy a well-curated selection of DJs in house, techno and disco – some of the biggest names brought to the table were Fritz Kalkbrenner, Kerri Chandler, Delano Smith, Aeroplane, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Claptone, Culoe de Song, Max Cooper, Lil Louis and Italojohnson.
