Premiere: Lehar – Lonestar Memories (Original Mix)

Lehar’s aesthetic categories of the sublimity and beauty of nature find their roots in Romanticism. As you may notice while listening to Lehar’s music compositions, intuition and emotion are the basis of his creative process, finally resulting in a near impromptu. Lehar’s debut ep ‘Sargas’ on Offenbach imprint Connaisseur Recordings has put him on the map of modern electronic music and represents his artistic manifesto: a mixture of sounds and atmospheres of dramatic effects characterized by intimate basslines and intriguing melodies. Since, Lehar has also been a core member of Solomun’s Diynamic family, who, in 2016, celebrates its 10 year ... Read more

Your Weekend Life-Saver: The Rave Shake

Photo credits: Cleo Campert Here’s a way to keep you dancing like Michael Jackson at your next rave or festival: The Rave Shake – a medicinally focused recipe that will keep you healthy and in line – so you won’t appear the all too familiar shivering zombie halfway into the party. Sunny Bins: The Solar-Powered, Mobile Soundsystem

We recently came across a great little company in Australia that deserves some more attention. They’re called Sunny Bins and what they do is sell and rent out solar-powered, mobile soundsystems that are built within a garbage bin. The Melbourne-based company is starting to make a name for itself locally, by renting out their different Sunny Bins at different sustainability events across the city. The company started back in 2012 as a crazy idea – “a load of rubbish” as they call it themselves. But it turned out to be quite easily to produce a self-sustaining sound system that is ... Full Premiere: Benotmane – Beyond (Karmon Remix)

Karmon came into contact with electronic music in 2003 by experimenting with different styles and setups to mild success, but wasn’t until early 2012 when the artist Karmon was truly born. Since then, Karmon has found a meteoric rise, with original productions, remixes, and gigs spanning the gamut of the dance music elite. Since honing the Karmon sound in ’12, it was a matter of months until top chart productions were coming out of the studio. Starting out with his debut release Turning Point on Sintope digital and then followed by Wowshit on Diynamic. By that summer, Solomun had already been championing Karmon’s tracks and soon  asked him ... Read more

Haitian DJ Creates Wooden DIY DJ Controller

We live in a time where you don’t need much to DJ. You just need your computer, the right software and a controller. But what if you can’t get hold of a controller that easily? Haitian DJ Fredly Rosilme wanted one and you can say he’s a true visionary. He decided to make a controller out of wood and wires and the end result actually works. On the one hand it is an amazing idea to have a controller made out of wood when living in a world where everything else is made out of plastic. On the other hand it is just ... Read more

“LANDR” a helpful tool for producers and record labels

The dance music bubble exploded these past couple of years and the market turned into an over saturated battlefield where new ideas come and go and only the ones that dare the impossible make it over the top of the hill. Record labels come and go, artists arise and quickly reach the edge. It’s all due to innovation and the DIY,  which people created to ease up their work and save fortunes. With the help of DIY methodologies, today’s dance music industry got so distorted that it reached the heights of the 90s rock and roll era. The systematization factor ... Read more
