#08 X-Press 2 – Sintara | Skint Records | Out now |

Anticipating the 20th anniversary of Skint Record, scene veterans X-Press 2 are back with ‘Sintara’. The release is a peak time passionate and euphoric piece that comes from the pairing of the duo and Mutiny. The title track is a direct cut with stomping floor toms and brisk hats opening up, before a graceful and hypnotic melody kicks in as the track grows in urgency and drama. On the flip-side we have a drum machine masterpiece that hints at original X-Press 2 sounds with a seductive and catchy bass-line.

#06 Partok Matushka Apfelberg – Nai Nai EP | Kompakt | Out now |

The DJ and production trio Partok Matuschka Apfelberg is holding residencies in Tel Aviv’s The Block, one of the most acclaimed clubs these days. Named “one of the five best sound systems” in the world on England’s BBC Radio 1, the club is perfect proving grounds for the slick, propulsive techno to be found on Kompakt’s latest 12″ offering. Title track ‘Nai Nai’ bum-rushes the stage with prowess, inflicting its bass-heavy demeanor with some funky voice cut-up work while the flipside shines with ‘Station’, a relaxed, somewhat more introspective track.
