Sisko Electrofanatik is an Italian DJ/Producer with many years in the game and a techno sound revered throughout the industry. We spoke to him recently to talk about his recent release on CODEX, and how he thinks everything will be in post pandemic times…

How are you, what’s good and bad in your world right now?

Ciao! I’m good thanks!!

So the good thing is I have more time to make music in the studio and find inspirations. The bad thing is that the clubs and nightlife events are postponed without any date confirmed.
How have you survived the last year? What got you through it?

I’ve been locked in my apartment, so I have spent a lot of time in my home studio working on a lot of music projects. I’ve been busy with remixes and also finding music for my label, Gain Records and Gain Plus. I also did some sound-design projects for sample packs.

What did you learn about yourself, the world, the industry?

I realised during this time period that in the modern world there are many things and attitudes that we’ve lost. Things like finding the time to read a book or talk with friends because, due to the high pace of normal life, we lost touch with. It’s made me appreciate the little things that before I took for granted – for example, spending time with the family, and I do more to stay fit and healthy. About the industry I think is a bad moment for us but, the music is going on, not much sales because we make music for the clubs, but we have to be strong and we will go back on dance floor again.

Where do you stand on the playing of plague raves?

I think it’s not easy for the ravers and guys, but I think is better to follow the government directives to go back at the clubs in total safety.

Why is techno so important to you? Why is it your fav genre?

Techno is a life philosophy and my world! My genre is my current style from the Melodic peak time to raw/deep techno!

What inspired the new one on CODEX?

I was inspired by the Egyptian Myth God “Osiris” the melody in the drop reminds me the secrets and mystery behind the Egyptian Era and Mythology.

And I asked Loco & Jam to make a Remix on their current techno style and it’s matched perfectly!

What gear did you use to write it? Are you bothered about the tools you have?

I’ve joined my idea of peak time mainstream techno with sound design works on the main arp synths and analogue sounds. I used Virus Ti Snow to make the ambients/trance synths, The Neutron for the organic/metallic Fx and the arp and more synths with some Plugin as u-He Hive , Diva, Vital Audio and more!

What else have you got coming up/are you working on?

I’m working on my Full album and coming up new releases on Analytictrail, Unrilis, OFF, Say What and my label Gain Records. My remix for David Dega and some releases are in collaboration with Dino Maggiorana and Stiv Hey.

Do you think dance music will be much different when it gets back to normal – will parties be more local and small scale or anything?

It will come back the same again, and I hope even better!
