Hide&Seek is now established as one of the best boutique festivals in the UK – somewhere for those who are really into their underground sounds and just want good music with good people in a good setting. That location is Capesthorne Hall, a stately home set in 100 acres of picturesque Cheshire countryside just outside Manchester.
It is decked out with stylish decor and tasteful designs but most importantly very good sound systems that are loud and clear. The cosy vibe of this festival is what makes it special – the crowd was welcoming to each other, and not afraid of getting stuck in with some serious dancing. And they do, firstly for us on the Tentree stage which was the main attraction for the heads. It has sets that blew brains from the likes of Fumiya Tanaka and Sonja Moonear who did a spectacular closing set on the Saturday.
Contour was also well worth a visit with Dutchman and red hot new schoolhouse hero Chris Stussy coming through with the goods. Priku and Traumer played on Saturday and brought more minimal sounds that got the crowd locked in.

The Dome Stage took the prize for being the most well decorated and escapist in its vibe and on Sunday it was Ingi Visions who made it their own before the Dungeon Meat pair smashed out some killer and edgy cuts.
Fantasia was another stage we visited and were impressed with the sped out house, electro and minimal from Voigtmann closing on the Saturday while Sunday was all about Sweely. He played late with his superb live show on The Contour stage mixing up electro, breaks, house and more with a spaced out edge and fluid sense of captivating groove. For more classic minimalism, it was all about Raresh and Arapu closing the Tentree stage back to back much to the adoration of the crowd. Meanwhile, French trio Apollonia did their thing and locked in the crowd for a house masterclass to close down.
Luckily there was really great weather for this one, so when paired with super music and really positive vibes from the friendly, welcoming crowd, it all made for a very special weekend. Here’s looking forward to next year’s Hide&Seek already.
