Summer is well and truly coming, the sun is out most days and you can feel that oh-so-familiar positive buzz in the air as people gear up for their holidays and anticipation for a hot, sizzling couple of months here in the capital.

With that in mind, we turned our attention to the outdoor venues in London that offer us party people the chance to shake our bums outside in a terrace/rooftop environment. So here we go, six of the best…

Studio 338
We’re big fans of Studio338 here at Deep House London. The south London venue has one of the capital’s best outdoor spaces, which can be used in summer and winter, with an immense Void sound system, weekly line-ups to make you do a sex wee and a great team running the show behind-the-scenes.
Address: 338 Boord Street, Greenwich, London SE10 0PF

Prince of Wales
Another popular south London spot is the long-running Prince of Wales, which has a sublime rooftop space often used for parties by the likes of Motek, Fever 105 and Norman Jay. One of the terraces can even be covered over when the weather drops, so you can do the rooftop thang in the winter as well as the summer, not bad at all!
Address: 469 Brixton Rd, Brixton, London SW9

Oval Space
Oval Space has come on leaps and bounds over the last four years. Starting out as a clandestine rave space, it has evolved into a slick, bright venue with a great sound system and an in-house team that has helped establish them as one of the best new clubs in east London. Their outdoor space is particularly good. Expect appearances from secretsundaze and Mister Sunday Night over the summer, plus many more top-flight guests.
Address: 29-32 The Oval, London E2 9DT

Dalston Roof Park
Some naysayers have started to pan Dalston, saying the area’s popularity has made is less appealing. This may sometimes be true, but when you enter places like the Roof Park (which has been renovated for this summer’s season of events), you fall in love with the area all over again. Parties galore, including the 2 Bears holding a residency, make this an essential summer stop off.
Address: The Print House, 18-22 Ashwin Street, London E8 3DL

South Place Hotel
This is a spot that you may walk past without realising it’s a great party spot with a killer rooftop space. The South Place Hotel has played host to parties put on by labels like Electronique in the past and boasts a great music policy thanks to its resident Teamy, who is a dab hand with vinyl. Make sure you swing by over the summer for some sunkissed vibes and great views over the city of London.
Address: 3 South Place, London EC2M 2AF

We went to this spot when it was used by 2020Vision to throw a semi-legal party headlined by Nick Curly back in 2011. Sadly, that got shut down owing to someone complaining and the fact they didn’t actually have a licence to throw events up on the roof. Fast forward to 2015 and Netil House has finally been granted a licence to run a bar on their roof, happy days! Definitely worth a visit over the summer, where no doubt some of the many creatives who rent space in the building will be throwing top notch parties.
Address: 1 Westgate Street, Hackney, London E8 3RL
