Cellini is a Belgian techno young gun who now serves up more of his genre-blurring, immersive sounds. He takes you on a journey through the deepest parts of the techno spectrum and translates infinite-depth into audible sounds right from the off here. Spine-tingling releases filled with musical character and storytelling emotions.
He is an artist who has risen above the crowd in quick time, has his own night at Belgian techno temple Fuse and played four times at Tomorrowland (of which one is hosting his own stage and the other opening the well-known Afterlife stage). He has played all over from Beirut to Amsterdam and also received the Red Bull Elektropedia Award for Most Promising Artist. This new remix for the Belgian band Portland proves why.
The remix is forthcoming August 7th on PIAS — Portland’s home base where they released the original single. ‘Expectations’ was one of the results of their most recent album, an emotional, dreamy and subtle piece of harmonic prose, whose greatest strength is the harmonies and interaction between front duo Jente Pironet and Sarah Pepels. The original single got picked up on radio in Flanders, club shows sold out quickly and an invitation to play the two main Belgian summer festivals Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop festivals followed.
Curious to see the path this remix will bring forth. First support is dripping in and seems to be overwhelming, with great words from Laurent Garnier, Kölsch, Bedouin, Mind Against, Eagles & Butterflies and more to come.
