10. Remi Mazet – I Felt This Way Before EP | Colors | 01-09-2014 |

Colors have been featured in our party tips guide a few times now and rightfully so, they’ve been putting on one of east London’s best little soirees for the past year or so. Now they’re preparing to launch their label, with the first release coming from friend, and fellow Frenchman, Remi Mazet. The EP is full of funk and soul, with three original tracks and a delightful remix from Ivan Smagghe. A strong debut.

9. Various Artists – Waxology 1 | Strobe Wax | 18-08-2014 |

There’s some seriously nice music on this genial various artists compilation from Strobe Wax, a label run by Annie Errez and Bobby O’Donnell. From the sublime ‘Red’ by Bobby himself to Anaxander’s cosmic techno workout ‘I Can’t See You (But I Can Feel You)’, the four-tracker is well worth picking up.

8. Various Artists – Summer Daze Compilation 2014 | Suol | ??-08-2014 |

Suol is one of the labels that never fails to come correct with its releases, always professional, always on point. We like a bit of Suol here and their ‘Summer Daze’ compilation represents the finest that the label has to offer, curated by the mighty Chopstick & Johnson. All the material is exclusive to the label, so you know what to do…

7. Politics Of Dancing – Crack House EP | Politics Of Dancing | ??-08-14 |

France has been responsible for producing some of today’s most respected DJs and some of the best music around, too. Politics Of Dancing are a label/production outfit who are definitely among the highest pedigree of French artists. On the ‘Crack House’ they deliver a potent mix of funk and deep grooves built to grip dancefloors. Excellent.

6. Route 94 – Misunderstood EP | Leftroom | 18-08-2014 |

As if a UK No.1 wasn’t enough, Route 94 continues to roll out great music and throw down high-energy DJ sets across Europe and the world. His latest release comes via Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom label and we love it. It’s tough, deep and gets your hips wiggling from side to side from the minute the beats kick in. The youngster continues to impress.

5. No Artificial Colours – The Menace EP | Madtech | 25-08-14 |

Two guys who Deep House London rate very highly are south London duo, No Artificial Colours. They’ve gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years with some killer releases including the ridiculous ‘Crying Wolf’ and their recent outing on PMR ‘Reach For Me’ (and we’ll always have a soft spot for ‘Rocking Navajo’). This new EP on Madtech is typical NACs, combining contemporary influences with a hint of the past and it’s a blinder.

4. Drew Hill – Talk To You EP | Danse Club Records | 05-09-2014 |

Michelle Drew and Philipp Hill bring a touch of warmth and deepness to Danse Club Records with ‘Talk To You’. It’s smooth and considered, with Michelle’s delicate vocals supported by a simple yet effective instrumental. Label owners Brodanse go for a bouncy club vibe with their remix, while Groove Armada go straight for the jugular with a piano-led reinterpretation.

3. Raw District – Ragged Star EP | Crosstown Rebels | 11-08-2014 |

Belgium’s Raw District make their debut on Crosstown Rebels with the Ragged Star EP, full of analogue funk, dreamy melodies and warped vocals. Deep stuff, especially ‘Turn Away’ (featuring Giorgia Angiuli). Josh Wink remixes ‘Ragged Star’ twice – both mixes dip into the world of techno, as you might expect. Niceness..

2. Groove Armada – You Got To EP | Moda Black | 15-09-2014 |

Groove Armada feature twice on this month’s recommendations, this second time it’s with their very own EP on Moda Black. The track debuted on Moda Black’s ‘Vol III’ compilation and is now being released as a single in its own right with a radio edit and a remix from Theo Kottis. It’s a biggie and Theo’s remix is a great addition to the original. Those vocals though…

1. Nick Monaco – Private Practice | Wolf + Lamb | 11-08-2014 |

Here’s a pre-cursor to Nick Monaco’s amazing debut album ‘Mating Call’. If you’ve never seen Nick perform live, make sure you do it as soon as you can – he’s a seriously talented guy and this EP features one of our favourite songs of his. ‘Private Practice’ is fun, infectious and has a real old school feel to it, while still sounding fresh.
