To celebrate their joint collaboration on Vivrant called ‘Vanadis’, Jeremy Olander and MOLØ recorded this mix at the Vivrant HQ, especially for this occasion.
After being the first-ever young talent to be signed to Swedish mega star Eric Prydz’s Pryda Friends almost a decade ago, Jeremy Olander has gone on to release multiple EPs, singles, record a shortlisted BBC Essential Mix, and performing at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden in New York City, and Brixton Academy in London.
Following his departure from the label in 2014 to pursue his own imprint and event series Vivrant, he released original music on some of the world’s largest and most respected imprints such as John Digweed’s Bedrock, Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, UK behemoth Anjunadeep, and M.A.N.D.Y.’s Get Physical.
As they say, no rest for the wicked. Last month, Jeremy released the melancholic banger ‘Vanadis’ alongside new label signee MOLØ, and the other week saw the unveiling of his first-ever mix album on the legendary Balance imprint. With 14 new originals from himself as well as La Fleur, Ejeca, Locked Groove, Marino Canal, Tim Engelhardt, as well as newcomers, A Friends of Marcus, and Carl Dern.
On the remix tip, the prolific Swede is releasing another high-profile project in his remix for fellow Swedish mega-star Tove Lo off her album single ’Sweettalk My Heart’. The Grammy nominated singer and songwriter has been dubbed “Sweden’s darkest pop export” by Rolling Stone and is known for her raw, grunge-influenced take on pop music, a perfect blend with the melancholically infused style of Olander.
There’s a long and respected lineage of electronic dance music artists stemming from the musical hotbed that is Stockholm. Adam Beyer, Jeremy Olander, Joel Mull, Genius of Time, Studio Barnhus, Jesper Dahlbäck are just a few, and the latest and greatest to join the aforementioned big wigs on her very own quest towards chart bliss and steaming dance floors is MOLØ. Following in the footsteps of her father, a well-respected and highly regarded selector in his own right, this young über-talent has been making moves on the local underground scene in the Swedish capital for the last half-decade.
We’re very happy to welcome Jeremy Olander & MOLØ to our mix series, serving up this intriguing melodic set.
