Hey guys! How are you, how has 2022 been so far?

Hard to give an answer on this at the moment, with all the things going on right now. Besides that we are trying to cope with that by working on a lot of new music in our studio at the moment.

Did you feel the pressure remixing an iconic track?

Luckily we didn’t think of the significance of remixing such a song. Ragheb gave us the opportunity to choose any of his songs for the remix and we just chose our favorite one without thinking about how to remix it.

How do you work, do you have an idea in your head you work towards or do you just experiment and jam and see what happens?

Most of the times when we try to work towards a specific idea or sound we start struggling with our own idea at a certain point. That’s why we try not to do that that often and focus more on going with the flow, try to just record ideas, experiment and modify them. At some point of the production process we get rid of some parts and structure everything we did. Interestingly it happens quite often that we eliminate the first motif we started working with in the end.

Do you think of where a tune might be played, to who, when making it?

When we started we didn’t know much about the electronic music scene. We didn’t know about conventions in electronic music, so it turned out that it was quite hard for other DJs e.q. to play our tracks. Once we realized this people had already accepted our music. So we are in the privileged situation right now to almost release all kind of music that we feel at that moment. Our listeners are very open minded, so we  are able to even release completely acoustic songs.

Do you make the tunes you want to play in your own sets, is there a direct link like that?

There is a link for sure. It’s not that we are composing our music for our sets, but our music is influenced by concert situations. Quite often we take ideas and sketches from the studio on stage and experiment with them. Anything that happens on stage that we like ends up in the studio afterwards.

Are you concerned with your environmental impact? And what can you do about it if so?

Of course we are aware of it. I think most people are, the biggest thing is about getting from this awareness to the point of actually changing things. Workwise we try to not take not necessary flights for example, which means trying to take shorter and more efficient routes while touring. Or trying to take trains instead of airplanes when possible. There are a lot of distances within Europe for example where you don’t even lose time while traveling even though it might feel like being slower in the beginning. But taking all the waiting time in airports into account,  going there and reaching the final destination within a city, a 100 minute flight from Hamburg to Paris turns into a 6 to 7 hours travel in the end. Going by train takes 7 to 8 hours in the end. So in the end it’s not really worth it to travel by plane. And then there is of course a private and a social political level. I guess unfortunately there are a lot of decisions that we have to take as society in general.

What is next for you after this release?

We are in a very creative phase right now, so I guess there are some releases to expect till the end of the year. It’s gonna start with a live album at the beginning of summer. And we are super excited to finally be able to play more concerts again.
