Lay-Far is a Moscow-based DJ and producer, and the owner of In-Beat-Ween Music label.
Known for his blend of deep and soulful House with influences taken from rare groove disco, jazz and funk, Lay-Far’s distinctively individual sound has won him truly global fan base, often venturing outside his home town of Moscow to tour the world.
With multiple releases under his belt on such renowned labels as Atjazz Record Company, Local Talk, Lazy Days, Rebirth, Tru Thoughts, City Fly or Soundofspeed, Lay-Far has been gaining constant support from the likes of Jimpster, Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson, and Osunlade (to name a few).
After the release of his first critical acclaimed album in 2013, it’s now time for Lay-Far’s anticipated follow up and, again, with the help of Local Talk it meets even the highest of expectations. This album, “How I Communicate” is a metaphor about the way a musician communicates with the listener, both in club or non-club environment. Also how sound is truly multilingual and holds no boundaries or restrictions put in place by language, race or culture. How such a non-local and very ephemeral, abstract thing as music manifests itself in a very physical and tangible way, regardless of the place and time.
Today, we premiere the ethereal ‘Another Way (The Siren Song)’ off “How I Communicate”.
“How I Communicate” is available 12 February on Local Talk
