It’s quickly approaching, 9&10 September’s The Social Festival at the Kent County Showgrounds.
The event, which is organized from Saved! Records founder and DJ veteran himself Nic Fanciulli sees a who’s who of dance music masters, past and present, decent to its grounds. With such a stacked lineup we thought we’d take the opportunity to check out who we’re most excited to see (although #1 is kind of a no brainer)
Sasha & Digweed
What can we say here? It’s Sasha & Digweed, the original DJ duo and international back 2 back champions. Coming together for their first announced performances in years (with a handful of un announced leading the way up), the guys behind Northern Exposure, and any other number of accolades over the last 30 years handle peak time Friday evening duties.
Andrew Weatherall
Another seminal veteran of the game, Andrew Weatherall’s career has been defined by diversity. Whether it be a member of Sabres of Paradise, early production partnerships with Paul Oakenfold, or working in the studio with any number of artists from Björk to Manic Street Preachers, Andrew Weatherall’s house music pedigree is unquestioned.
Gerd Janson
Not one for frills, the Running Back Records boss brings his love for deep and disco music to the Kent Cuntry Showgrounds. With a pedigree that invluced a Robert Johnson residency and prudction aliases including Tuff City Kids, Gerd is the quintessential DJs DJ.
Nastia
One of dance music’s most eclectic and energetic presences behind the decks, Ukraine’s Nastia has seen her star rise from strength to strength over the last few years. Very much a DJs DJ, and one who offers unparalleled insight into the her world via social media, Nastia has found herself a favorite at quality venues and events around the world.
LTJ Bukem
A pioneer of the liquid drum n bass sound, LTJ Bukem has been a dance music renaissance man damn near three decades now. As a visionary DJ, entrapenaour, and musician, the sound of LTJ Bukem has redefined the meaning of breakbeat, as well as being the living embodiment of the post acid house creative entrepreneurial spirit.
