VONDA7 continues her steady ascent through the underground electronic ranks by inaugurating a brand new project: art | werk.

The imprint, which bridges the gap between listener and dancer, which also gives aspiring visual artists a showcase platform, kicks off with VONDA7’s aptly titled “Pure Intentions EP”, consisting of 4 deeply personal productions. The genre-hopping collection spans Breaks, Techno, and Alternative Pop whilst remaining suffused with a delicate balance of allaying melody and power.

With this platform for full creative control launching imminently, VONDA7 has also expanded on a handful of artists she respects for their artistic integrity and maintenance of full control.

Matthew Herbert

This man has so many music faces and has been a huge inspiration for me when I first got into electronic music. His solo project and countless aliases have shaped my music taste significantly. I love his collaborations with bands and singers as well as his unique sampling techniques.

The Knife

This band has crossed over some musical genres and the way they expressed themselves was always very unique. I love the quirky use of vocals and melodic parts with some rough beats.

Maya Jane Coles

This power woman has been running her label successfully for a while now, making some amazing music, designing her own artwork and showcasing her creative powers on some wicked remixes. I respect her work a lot.

Jimmy Edgar

I have been following Jimmy’s work for quite a while and he keeps coming up with some great music and visual art. Always challenging and interesting, a captivating fusion of genres and styles.

Four Tet

I remember first discovering four tet through his remix for King of Convenience years ago… I have followed his music ever since and he has some of the most original ideas out there. Never boring.

“Pure Intentions” is available 28 September (Vinyl) & 5 October (Digital) on art|werk
