The acclaimed Parallells duo is back with a remix of Pupkulies & Rebecca’s “Fou de Toi”. It arrives on all platforms on their own Klassified label and is set to win them another new legion of fans around the world.
Parallells are Thomas and Julien de Bie, formally trained jazz musicians who take that into their own multi-genre tracks, always with a melodic and emotive edge. They are both DJs and a live act who have performed a full live set with Gnawa Musicians at Moga Festival, and have played Robot Heart and Mayan Warrior Art cars at Burning Man. Next to their own label Klassified Records, they have their own creative hub in Amsterdam which combines arts, music studios and a co-working space, under the name “The House of Klassified”.
They put out their own “A Day At” videos showing organic production and live performances through field recordings, and soon will come “A Day In” which translates culture through field recordings and collaborations with local and traditional musicians. The first episode from Essaouira is coming up, and next episodes include Real de Catorce, Azerbaijan, Bangkok, Amsterdam and more.
The pair have been playing this new single for a while and it always gets great reactions. It showcases their gift for creating energetic yet powerful tracks with lush melodies that tell their own musical stories. As the deep and mellow chords soak you into the track, the remaining layers steer towards the climax where “Fou de Toi” reveals its full potential.
