Steven and Majesty are behind much loved party Audiowhore, Playing out in London over the last six years now, it is an event that focuses on good times, great sound and variety.

Famed for a multi-cultural crowd, Audiowhore books the likes of house stars Amine Edge & DANCE, Sonny Fodera, German Brigante and many others. Ahead of the 6th birthday on Saturday 18th March at O2 Academy Brixton with Steve Lawler, Dennis Ferrer, Lee Foss, Volkoder, Detlef & more, we speak to the pair about what makes their party great, about their favourite moments from over the years and more besides.

“…we have done virtually every nightclub in London”

Tell us who’s behind Audiowhore and how it first came to be?
There are two figure heads that are behind AW ‘Myself’ Steven & Majesty (who also runs hit grime event Eskimo Dance, started off as A&R scout for XL recordings working in Release The Groove records before starting his own online store Avalanche Music Hut & taking over Rhythm Division in 2007 to close).

Majesty (Viva Music/Elrow) & I are close friends that went to raves but we couldn’t find anything that offered everything in one, so we decided to start Audiowhore to offer a good vibe & to cover more than one angle of Dance Music but with the main focus set on House as a genre.

What is the aim, the vibe and the plan for your 6th birthday celebrations?
The aim is to the throw the biggest party ever to celebrate our journey and success over the years

What are the key ingredients for a good party in your opinion?
Great crowd, great production & timeless music

For those who have never been to an Audiowhore party, what can they expect?
What makes our party stand out is the vibe, a multi cultural crowd all dancing together and the music is always always extra on point

Why Brixton Academy? What made you want to throw the event there?
Brixton is sort of a stepping stone from club to festival world and over the years we have done two days in a row at 2500 capacity venues but never one night on this scale so made sense. Plus we have done virtually every nightclub in London, this was only one we have not done so it made sense through our journey.

What has been your highlight of running Audiowhore so far over the last 6 years?
Either 3rd birthday in great Suffolk street warehouse, we sold out both days in advance, route 94 headlined the week he went #1 in the charts or sankeys ibiza feel that when you have thrown a proper party in ibiza and successful your officially on the map

Who are you most looking forward to see play at the 6th birthday?
Dennis Ferrer is a personal favourite, i have been playing his tracks for years.
