As a teenager, Prunk consistently found himself attracted to the deep and jackin’ sounds of US house, particularly that of Mark Farina. Despite this interest, he also continued his search for the deeper and better beats the international house scene had to offer. Soon after, he started to do some studio work himself.
Recently, Prunk has released on labels like King Street Sounds, Soweso, Electronique and Midnight Love Club (vinyl).
Gig-wise this success has also meant a move to the big clubs and festivals like Welcome to the Future, Open Air Festival and Awakenings, as well as holding residencies with DGTL Festival and Straf-Werk. His popularity extends well beyond the Dutch border, recently, Russia welcomed Prunk where, amongst others, he rocked clubs like Don’t Tell Mama and De Pompadour in Moscow and Tyumen. In 2015 Prunk sees his influence extend even farther with performances at Miami Music Conference, Space Ibiza, Off Sonar week, and the Dominican Republic’s Groovefest. Naturally, Prunk does not limit himself to DJing and music production exclusively. Since December 2012 he has been hosting his own night in Amsterdam’s club AIR called Windmill, which focuses on the new UK sound bringing guest performances from artists such as Jordan Peak, Genius Of Time, Dale Howard & Jay Tripwire to name a few. In 2015 Prunk’s latest foray into event programming finds its home at the Chicago Social Club and is entitled “Prunk Invites,” which also happens to be the basis of his latest label platform, PIV. The next event of “Prunk Invites” will be 29 May with special guest Montel.
