One of, if not the biggest, event of the year is seriously closing in on us! We’re talking of course about the BPM festival which kicks off on the 9th of  January. Taking over most of Playa del Carmen in Mexico, this year’s BPM is filled with events to die for. So, to help you navigate through the extravaganza, we’ve put together a day-by-day list of our picks of the line-up:

Friday 9th of January



RUMORS @ CANIBAL ROYAL Our BPM festival kicks off with the Rumors party at the Cannibal Royal. Consisting of a saucy line up with Guy Gerber on top of the bill, this is the ideal start for BPM.



MAYA JANE COLES & FRIENDS @ BLUE PARROT  First night of BPM features a killer at the Blue Parrot. The host, Maya Jane Coles, will be bringing along friends to join her behind the decks. And not just anybody, as the music will be provided by Dusky, Heidi, Jimmy Edgar and Kim Ann Foxman.

BPITCH CONTROLS SHOWCASE @ LA SANTANERA Another party to check out is at La Santanera, which will be the place for Bpitch Controls Showcase featuring Ellen Allien, Jesse Perez, Dj Qu and Camea. The same venue also features the Ovum party in room 2, with Manik, Ambivalent, Dj Sean Miller and the mighty Josh Wink behind the decks.

Saturday 10th of January



ANTS @ BLUE PARROT A great day two wake up is provided by the Ants crew. Featuring some of our heroes such as Danny Daze, Dj Sneak and Kölsch, this event taking place in the Blue Parrot is a full 9 hour all day fiesta.

ALL DAY I DREAM @ MAMITA’S BEACH CLUB Another interesting event will be at The Mamita’s Beach Club. All Day I Dream event, which hosts a line up of the likes of Lee Burridge, Matthew Dekay, YokoO and Hoj.



LIFE AND DEATH @ BLUE VENADO The notorious Life and Death crew is getting together for this Saturday night event at Blue Venado. With none others than Dj Tennis, Ben Ufo, Joy Orbison, Mind Against, Pachanga Boys, Thugfucker, Vaal and Amsterdams very own Job Jobse playing, this is a night not to miss.

LA FAMILIA @ BLUE PARROT There’s even a second possibility to spot Dutchmen in action. This time at the Blue Parrot, as the La Familia event brings Joris Voorn together with Nic Fanciulli, with Mathias Tanzmann and Harvard Bass also appearing.

Sunday the 11th of January



CULPRIT @ FUSION This event will feature many familiar names to frequent DHA readers. Two of the acts that made our top 10 full premieres list, Bambook and Edu Imbernon, will be taking the stage with Maxxi Soundsystem, Adriatique, Manik and Jozif to name a few.

I’M A HOUSE GANGSTER @ MAMITA’S BEACH CLUB The bad boys of house will be getting together at the I’m a House Gangster labels event at the Mamita’s Beach Club, which is another good party to be present at. With Dj Sneak, Jesse Perez, DJ Heather and Mark Farina playing, you can expect some bump ‘n’ grind to go down.



HOT FLUSH & BLACK BUTTER @ LA SANTANERA With Alan Fitzpatrick, Ben UFO, Joy Orbison, South London Ordnance and Scuba on the bill, the Hot Flush Party at La Santanera will be a definitive venue for a good night. That’s what makes it out pick for the last party of the first weekend. Not to mention that La Santanera is also the place for the Black Butter Records party on the same evening with Rudimental, Gorgon City, Kidnap Kid and others playing.

KEINEMUSIK @ TABU NIGHT CLUB Sunday night will also feature the magnificent Keinemusik who will be hosting their party at the Tabu night club as a part of the Sunday night events. The line up is studded with Rampa, &ME, Adam Port, and David Mayer with Till von Sein joining in as a special guest.

About The Author

Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, Axel is a music writer, a DJ, and a radio host. Since stepping on the 1’s and 2’s in 2008 it’s been one helluva ride for this house music lover. Gathering full momentum in the Finnish scene with his SMOOD duo, this northern dweller packed his bags and re-located in A’dam in 2014. Axel is known for a wide spanning view on everything with a 4/4 beat. His Dj-sets have been heard both in clubs and on the semi-national radio station Basso in FIN. With interests on both the current state of dance music as well as where it all came from, it was only natural for him to jump on the DHA bandwagon. Axel has a knack for discussing everything house, but also enjoys letting the music speak for itself. His writings are known to be as provocative as the cheeky house tunes that he plays whenever given the chance.
