According to the autopsy, the posse guys’ death was due to some form of blunt force to the head, suffocation, and heart attack – but Eddie had no idea how it happened or who was involved.

After his discovery, Eddie instinctively removed the American Psycho–esque blood on his face and sent photos to his friends in the States in case things got worse. Unfortunately – things did get worse. Shortly after he had hit the “send” button, the Nayarit state police, better known as the Black Masks, was raiding the building. Bewildered, Eddie and friends were rounded up and loaded onto a white bullet riddled Ford F150, and driven through what seemed to be the coldest, darkest, and most unforgiving jungle on Earth.

At this point Eddie was praying Ashton Kutcher would be there any minute, but he knew exactly where the Black Masks were taking them – to a prison. Upon arrival opened a large gate to what best resembled an overcrowded dungeon. It was about to be the worse edition of summer camp ever.

“You walk in and you’re immediately hit with these intense smells of humanity, excrement from all the open latrines. It’s totally dark, but you can feel eyes on you.”

Eddie and the others were all charged with aggravated homicide, but Ashley and two others managed to get out through a bribe. He and Carlos were still caught in the mix. Ultimately, Eddie was unsure of when he was going to get out – so he had to try to settle into the situation no matter how bad it was.

Eventually he would get moved to a new location called Venuztiano Carranza. To his surprise, the place was more of a town than a prison. There everything from bootlegged American DVDs to sliced coconuts to fresh crack could be purchased. Eddie described the scene as “a cross between the bazaar on Tatooine in Star Wars and the worst Burning Man theme camp ever.”

Eddie could keep busy by doing productive things such as reading philosophical books, learning Spanish, and practicing Karate – but found himself getting caught in things such as narco death black magic and hedonistic sex-fueled rituals. You could say that this experience was 10x worse for Eddie than it was for Kyle in South Park’s Woodland Critter Christmas.

After seven-long months, word was out that Eddie along with Carlos were finally getting released. This was confirmed after being offered countless scams by other inmates and prior evidence released by the lawyer. In the end, Carlos ended up having to pull together a $320,000 bribe with his own resources.

While much of Eddie’s monologue is hysterical to the average Westernized individual, its hard not to transcribe it into scenes you may find straight out of a movie. On a real note, if there is one important thing that has changed about Eddie – is his outlook on Western drug culture.

“We consume drugs and we have no fucking clue as to the repercussions. I’ve seen what your drug money pays for. We are inadvertently perpetuating corruption and misery and violence with every bump or line we do.”

In which case, Eddie’s experience carries two key separate messages.

First off, your dark, narcissistic and egoist mindset propels thousands of people to perform in one of the world’s saddest tragedies of all time. Secondly, don’t ever bother to take on a booking in Mexico, other than maybe the BPM festival..
