Nestled within the cultural melting post that is Amsterdam’s Oost neighborhood stands the industrial, multi purpose venue, Q-Factory.
Reminiscent of city center attractions like Melkweg and Paradiso, Q-Factory is Amsterdam’s only other all purpose music venue, able to hold some 1300 between its two cavernous halls. From live music to underground dance, the venue’s place within the cultural landscape of Amsterdam’s most diverse neighborhood cannot be understated. A center for community, with its practice, work, and studio space, full service cafe, and upcoming hotel, Q-Factory literally breathes creativity. Now, with Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) right around the corner, the venue will play host to a series of events bringing some of dance music’s finest brands to the city’s east side. In Addition to the music event, Q-Factory will also hosta range of ADE Playground workshops, including collaborations with Compass Agency, Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam, and DJ School Amsterdam.
20 October sees one of electronic music’s most revolutionary imprints, Global Underground, come together with their largest collection of alumni performing in one place. With James Lavelle, Dave Seaman, Sander Kleinenberg, Habischman, Darren Emerson, Eelke Kleijn, Remy Unger & Roland Klinkenberg, and many more handling duties, this collection of classic and contemporary is a standout event of the entire ADE program. Also, running alongside, and throughout the week, will be an exhibit of photographer Dean Belcher’s seminal GU work, on display throughout Q-Factory’s spacious interior.
Moving through the week, 21 October sees Monica Kruse‘s Terminal M and Christian Smith‘s Tronic Music join forces for a full on night of techno. Alongside the two veteran techno heavy’s will be Oliver Huntemann, Pig&Dan, ANNA, and Stefano Noferini on the Terminal M side of things, with Noir, Whebba, Eric Sneo, Macromism, Paride Saraceni, Drunken Kong, and Nico Cabeza backing up the Tronic crew.

Finally, on 22 October, the ADE program winds down with a huge event hosted by Villa Kakelbont, with a special Flashmob LTD vs. Connected labelnight. Here, both Q-Factory spaces will be in full effect with a lineup that includes Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Flashmob, Kaiserdisco, DJ W!LD, Joran van Pol, Terranova, Flug, Re.You, Jeff Rushin, Matt Tolfrey, Citizenn, Bambook, and more (of course).
With this fully stacked series of event’s through the industry’s most important conference, Q-Factory situates itself in the underground yet accessible conversation. Its extended operating hours through ADE and beyond, newfound focus on electronic programming, continued mission toward a creatively complete structure, and convenient location all make this a space with endless possibility.
