During 5 Days Off, Hot Since 82 isn’t the only Brit making his appearance. For there are two London gentlemen visiting Amsterdam that night. They have been making tidal waves in the UK and beyond for quite a while now. Their names are Serge Santiago and Firas Waez, but you might know them as Waze & Odyssey.
Waze & Odyssey are an integral part of a new wave of emerging producers who are helping to keep the UK house scene on its toes. They originally created a fake background story about being US garage veterans raised on a diet of funk & soul in Miami, but then they came clean that they were just having a laugh with that story and are actually a couple of London veterans. With a distinct Waze & Odyssey sound evolving, a new W & O record label, a love of keeping people guessing, and support from the likes of Pete Tong, Maya Jane Coles, Bicep, and Paul Woolford, Waze & Odyssey have been up to big things in the last couple of years.
They had a third return visit to Panorama Bar in December of 2013. Gigs around Europe in cities like Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Barcelona, Ghent, not to mention dates all over the UK. Appearances on Rinse FM, Dalston’s NTS Radio, Eats Everything’s US radio show and a set on the world famous Boiler Room (Berlin). If that isn’t enough they have a new EP coming up on their old trusted label Street Tracks called “Real Good Like” EP. All in all, this pair is showing no signs of slowing down.
The duo will be performing on Thursday, March 5, during one of 5 Days Off most anticipated parties with Hot Since 82, Ejeca, Bodhi, our very own Elias Mazian and many others joining them in the line up. 5 Days Off first started in 2001 as a spin-off from Belgium’s 10 Days Off festival and is already having its fourteenth edition this year. The festival is the first of its kind in Amsterdam, as it developed over the years into a week-long indoor dance festival much like ADE, appealing to an equally diverse audience. Across its five day period, the organizers present to the public various events like art galleries, screenings and of course lots of clubbing experience with various musical highlights. Together with the support from Jongens van de Wereld, an experienced organization that has earned its stripes in the Amsterdam partying circuit, this event will be one of the peaks during your 5 Days Off. So make sure you keep a clear schedule the fifth of March. And probably the following day as well..
