On October 17th, DGTL will host Paradise ADE. The event that will take place at the illustrious NDSM-Docklands you will find the finest artists from the Hot Creations catalog all under one roof, like label honcho Jamie Jones, Magda, The Martinez Brothers and of course their latest superb addition in the form of Patrick Topping.
Topping has had THE hit of the summer with his relentlessly catchy dance floor smasher ‘Forget’ (of course to be heard in this podcast). This pure groovemaster from Newcastle has an uncanny ability to create the fattest bass-infused tracks at a staggering rate, having already released two EPs on HC in a short timespan.
Patrick showcased his undeniable talent with a highly impressive debut release and double dance floor hitter, the ‘Walk On’ E.P. earlier this year, released on Hot Creations new label Hot Trax, which reached no.5 in the Beatport Deep House charts and was championed by Pete Tong on his legendary BBC radio 1 show.
With his tracks gaining support from heavyweights Franck Roger, Richy Ahmed, Darius Syrossian and Jamie Jones even before they were signed, it was only a matter of time before the budding artist broke into the limelight.
Now 24 years old Patrick, first built a DJ career around playing at his own popular club night in Newcastle – Motion and has made his Ibiza debut, at no less than DC10 for Paradise in July. Through the old-fashioned demos route, Patrick caught the attention of the Hot Creations camp as they recognized his talent. During last week’s DJ Awards, Patrick got even more credit when he won both the Newcomer DJ Award and the Track Of The Season Award for ‘Forget’. Quite an honour for an artist that still lived in obscurity less than a year ago.
You can also catch Patrick Topping at Coventry’s Outbreak Festival on October 31st.
