A producer that isn’t shy in laying his eggs in different baskets, Dino Lenny delivers us a deceptively mellow yet anticipatory mix that embodies a delightfully dark feel to it.
Dino Lenny started out as many young, wide-eyed & willing DJ’s do, performing on a local radio station. Being prohibited to the boundaries of the local scene he decided to relocate and venture back to home turf in the U.K.
The bright potential that London boasts enticed the young mixer to trial what the city could offer and he made great utilisation of the crowd available. His earlier success will probably be recognised from his edits of pop artists Missy Elliott and Timbaland, or his collaborations with Steve Lawler on Viva Records. His ability to turn popular music into something special and unique really blossomed, especially when he released his edits of Underworld. Developing a feel for what the musical world has to offer, the producer has also found himself curating soundtracks for film and TV.
Lenny has since developed his own label Fine Human Records, which has really given him the opportunity to create showcase sounds that he aspires to. His current projects include working alongside Maceo Plex for the label Ellum.
Achievements aside, today’s mix really expresses his ability. The mix incorporates spacey techno vibes that are slightly subdued whilst also retaining a club feel. Although apt for easy listening he still manages to toy with your expectations delivering a variation in synths and progressions. Get ahead of the game and make the most of it because it features many tracks that are unreleased.
