ADE is slowly creeping under our skin and we’re skipping past the last week. Today’s podcast is a Paradise Special, featuring this year’s acclaimed DJ/Producer, Route94. Jamie Jones’ Paradise concept comes back to ADE for its second time and promises to bring the raunchy, groovy style of Hot Creations in the wake  of DGTL. On October 17th the likes of Jamie Jones, Magda, The Martinez Brothers, Deetron and Route94 amongst others will smash the NDSM docks.

As many might resemble it to the main route in the UK, Route94 is actually the DJ pseudonym of London based Rowan Tyler Jones. 94 doesn’t resemble his birth date neither. In fact, it points out to the fact that he almost reached the year 94 on his birth – yes, almost, as he’s actually born in ’93. Oh the irony.

With his roots deep in garage and dubstep culture, Route94 quickly established himself in the past year. He first emerged onto the scene on highly acclaimed Defected Records with his hip-hop spoken house track, “Fly 4 Life”. Soon after, his garage influences along with a modern take on house music were transposed onto a 4 track EP on the same label. Ministry of Sound, Rinse, Defected or Leftroom Recordings have also brought out work of the distinguished gentleman.

The release on Defected served as a launch pad towards more notable productions as his remix of MK’s “Always” operated as a showcase of the true essence of the UK deep house sound. At only 20 years, of age Route94 took the UK singles charts by storm with his single, “My Love ft. Jess Glynne”, released on Rinse Recordings. The track topped the charts in the UK and over the course of the summer the track would resonate through nearly every European club, radio or terrace. With an adventurous sense and room for experimentation, Route94 ventured in tweaking the familiar contemporary deep house sound and the end result is a fuselage of 90’s euro-dance, house and particular garage that can easily be spotted throughout his productions and DJ sets.

As you’ve might have noticed from the title, this podcast is a special one. It’s the kick-off of our newly found collaboration with ‘The Boom Room’ (part of popular Dutch radio channel SLAM!FM). In the Boom Room, Deep House Amsterdam will have recurring segments like the ‘spotlight track’ where we pick our favourite new track of the week (featuring the new Huxley this Saturday) and a bi-weekly mix that we will co-host with them. The next mix will be aired LIVE from the Mini Cooper Store at Leidseplein on Saturday the 18th during ADE. special one  and each week we’ll be providing their underground dance music segment, The Boom Room, with carefully chosen music, summing up the week that just passed by giving it a particular sound. Every second Thursday of the month at 7 PM we’ll showcase a new mixtape to delight your ears with one hour of house. Here’s the first, enjoy.
