What can the audience expect form Apollonia during HYTE?
We don’t really prepare for a gig. Definitely we will see the vibe and the atmosphere there will make the party.
Would you play only vinyl or digital, maybe both?
Yes vinyls will be played definitely, but we are not going to rely entirely on that. Everything can happen and one needs to be able to adjust to the situation. So if a vinyl does not sound so good we won’t hesitate to try something else.
The three of you are very much like-minded and have a lot in common in terms of sound. Still as individuals, there are some differences. Do you think that these differences in your personal preferences or style, create the unique sound of Apollonia?
We are very like-minded but also successful DJs individually. When we play as Apollonia, we combine our personalities and create the sound, but we are one.
So 1 + 1 + 1 = 1?
Haha yes exactly!
As the three of you love afterhours, shall we expect a crazy edition after HYTE somewhere around beautiful Amsterdam?
Unfortunately, we have to continue with the tour but who knows..
What is the most important thing that you learned during after hours?
After hours for all of us are something special because during that time years ago we shaped who we are and our sound. It’s a time when you have the freedom to play things that wouldn’t go well at 2 in the club for example. It’s a very relaxed time where you can experiment and you can really play what is on your heart. That’s why we enjoy it so much.
Have you been at the Elementenstraat Warehouse before?
No, but we are definitely very excited to check it out.
What other places in Amsterdam you enjoy playing at?
Studio 80 is definitely a great place in our opinion! We enjoyed it a lot.
2015 has just started. Is there something in your calendar that you are looking forward to?
All shows are exciting, and every gig is something that we will look forward to. We are looking forward to sharing our love for music with all of you who dance with us!
