Amsterdam-based promoter La Rêve takes an ambitious call to put itself on the map by presenting two parties for the upcoming Friday and Saturday nights of ADE. Backed up by quality melodic labels such as Connaisseur, Parquet Recordings and Applescal’s Atomnation, they are on a big quest to create two “nights to remember”.
While the upcoming five days of Amsterdam Dance Event is a focus of countless local and overseas labels and promoters, it does take a lot of effort to stand out and offer something really unique for the indulged audiences. But since their first event organised nearly two years ago, La Rêve has been only growing since. With their outspoken focus on creating the musical and ambient narrative, their attempts haven’t left the dance floors disappointed. One of the recent memorable one was the summer festival with headliners such as Dominik Eulberg and Stephan Bodzin, which, even despite the weather conditions, ended up having an audience appreciated atmosphere and got em’ dancing till the very end.
For the Friday night La Rêve presents two strong up and coming labels: German based Connaisseur and Applescal’s Atomnation, a label founded in 2012 in Amsterdam. The main stage of De Balie, hosted by Connaisseur is preparing for the sound of a special b2b live-set by Chymera & Aril Brikha, Musumeci b2b Lehar, Of Norway and the chief of the label Alex Flitsch. Aril Brikha, who’s ‘Groove La Chord’ produced in 1998 is said to have crossed generic boundaries, and duo Of Norway, who are preparing a live set that is going to have their trademark sound that is gathering critical acclaim at the moment. Both are definitely a must to take into account. The second area will tell the musical story, narrated by Applescal’s Atomnation. The guys have invited the Swedish couple Gidge with their dreamy live-set, which is a rare treat, a real recommendation. The other Atomnation artists performing are Some Chemistry, Olaf Stuut, Polynation, Fran Seven and Guido.
Parquet Recordings, a German label was founded almost ten years ago in Stuttgart by Normen Flaskamp (aka Solee) and has collected some great names so far. Ones to perform at day 1 of their double ADE showcase are the prolific and groovy “ministers of melody” Boss Axis, with their biggest hits so far “Orlando” and “Keep Going”, as well as UNER (Dyinamic), representing the new generation of Spanish electronic music producers. His musical training influenced the development of his style, which has lead to recognition by the big names like Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox and consequently being noticed by the Dyinamic label. Addition to that, Oliver Schories, invited as a special guest by the label boss himself, Solee, to make sure the label’s Saturday night at the Balie blasts in a bliss of quality music until the final track.
On the 19th of October, the day after ADE, La Rêve will have its own EP out on Parquet Recordings, featuring their most promiment residents like Koen Schepens, Kjeld Langeveld, Cliff de Zoete and Hubert Kirchner.
2 nights, 3 labels, 1 great location – altogether set out to make a mark and bring out the narrative expertise in creating “a legendary label night journey” as promised by the guys of La Rêve.
