Maceo Plex is set to drop the second chapter of his Mutant Series, the first of which’s ‘Mutant DX’ was premiered by us recently.
The new set of EPs is again characterised by the “techno mutation” concept, each of which come out via friend’s labels, as well as Maceo’s own during the course of 2018. “Mutant 2” will kick off Ellum Black, a new branch of Ellum focusing on the darker, more intellectual sound of the Techno spectrum.
The package features two new cuts, the first – ‘Mutant Pulse’ – a collaboration with Dallas duo Paradigm Shift, while the flip-side – ‘Mutant Radio’ – appears like the straight-forward take of the EP building up synth chords and melodies for a trippy pick.
Listen to ‘Mutant Pulse’ below and keep an eye ou for the full release set to drop 27 July on Ellum Black
