The mysterious New York City-based DJ Moon Boots entered this world in the mid-1980s via Cape Canaveral, Florida. After years of service as the preferred footwear of celebrity astronauts, Moon Boots sprung to life whilst on a (highly) classified experiment aboard the International Space Station. Little is known of what actually transpired, but in short, Moon Boots became a sentient creature, equipped with reason, intuition, and groove.
Finding solace in the soothing sounds of underground disco and R&B boogie records, Moon Boots knew it was only of matter of time before he was “hung up” like so many of his footwear brethren before him. With this in mind, he abandoned space travel and used his savings to build a music production studio, where he currently makes his home.
Over the past handful of years, Moon Boots has become a household name, releasing sparkling and fun tracks (mostly) on the acclaimed platform French Express. Alongside the likes of Jonas Rathsman and Perseus, the French Express crew has led the charge of the internet-era disco-house sound permeating speakers the world over.
As much remains unknown about Moon Boots, all we can do is take solace in his sparkling sound. With that, we have received an exclusive mix from the man himself. Spanning the spectrum of his powers, everything from the deeper side of house to the throwback disco sound which makes a Moon Boots set so identifiable are featured in 60 minutes of shiny beats.
