“When I make music and I play out, I have to open up my heart and be able to spread the same love that I get when I’m on the dancefloor”

In the course of just a few months, Amsterdam-based Elias Mazian has firmly settled himself in our city’s clubbing circuit. Playing weekly gigs in the hotspots like Trouw, Chicago Social Club, NDSM Werf and Studio 80, Elias is building quite a reputation for himself. With his eclectic style, heavily influenced by disco, soul and old-school 4/4 Chicago house, he’s already made a lot of bodies dance to his beats in the Netherlands. And beyond as well, this month for instance he has a gig in one of Berlin’s top venues, Sisyphos.

Being born and raised in Amersfoort, Elias was passionate about music from a very young age. The records of his favourite artists  Michael Jackson, Prince and Stevie Wonder moved him deeply as a kid, and laid the foundation for his later tastes in electronic music. Whether he is in the studio, behind the decks or on the dancefloor, he has said that: “Music is a highly emotive way of expressing myself, and when people recognise that, I’m the happiest person on the planet”.

Check out this homegrown talent at the Bonobo official after, Wednesday next week @ Chicago Social Club.  On November the 29th Elias will be rocking during Wereldvreemd, which is held at the H7 Warehouse. Together with our friends Audiojack and Prunk he’s going to make it a night to remember.

We can expect an EP by mr. Mazian very soon as well. We’re very curious what he has in store for us. But first, press play, and prepare for some groovin’ this Monday evening.
