Accountant graduate stroke DJ & producer, Echonomist, premieres the chord slamming taster ‘Wee Hours’ as part of his forthcoming ‘Dusk’ EP.
Thessaloniki’s finest, Echonomist, is the perfect example of an exciting, raw and unique talent that was created at a young age. Acquiring a basic synthesizer (GEM) at an early age, Petros Manganaris began his somewhat prolific music career by the means of entertaining his greek family on Sunday afternoons. Having realised the potential of music creation with his college friends, Echonomist and his band members covered a wide spectrum of electronic & downtempo music; releasing 3 studio albums before 2009.
His drive to experiment with new sounds, and further his involvement with a different audience allowed Petros to begin his look-out for a different dimension within the electronic dance music scene. It wasn’t long until Echonomist found himself infatuated by artists and labels such as Carl Craig, Black Dog and Underground Resistance. Having gained his accounting diploma, Petros decided to begin his solo project at which point ‘Echonomist’ was born. His first tracks were released on labels such as Time Has Changed, Resopal and Upon You Records among others.
His new EP ‘Dusk‘ expresses gratitude towards the deep and hypnotic vibes of early Detroit techno, encompassing his own way of contemporary and synth-driven sound. Dusk will be available for digital download from October 31st on Rotary Cocktail Recordings.
