Justin James is all about his deep love of the diverse elements of Techno, of which are on full display on his fourth SCI+TEC instalment, the two tracker “Vaguely Obscure”.
As an artist, Justin’s juxtaposition of raw Techno with more organic elements, gives him boundless energy in the studio and behind the decks, which keeps the dance-floor militia on their toes. Cohesively developing a unique style that rolls all elements of techno into one highly kinetic experience, James has the ability to pool his influences, and endlessly move crowds to the far reaches of the genre. Releasing on the likes of Minus, Octopus, Form Music, and his own Refused imprint, James’ musical output is only set to rise.
Today, we premiere Justin’s latest EP’s title track, which edges from the darkness with its bubbling synth line and haunting chime, both underpinned and driven by a thudding kick-drum and piercing claps.
“Vaguely Obscure” is available 12 August on SCI+TEC
