After the (2015) launch of their new label ‘Hommage’, Monkey Safari gears up to take the dance scene by storm with the release of their new EP ‘On’.
Hailing from Halle, Germany, are the blood brothers Lars and Sven. They began their quest as Monkey Safari in 2008, launching a musical collaboration, along with their What! What! Records imprint. From then on, Lars began curating antidotes for his hip-hop obsessions, while Sven further dove into his tastes for UK big beat.
Determined to find a common ground for their influences, they ended up creating a youth-powered party known as Electric Ballroom. This party brought indie/alternative acts alongside vibe-focused electronic acts together within the same setting.
It is now with great honor to present the self-entitled release ‘On’ – which showcases the German duo’s mixture of hip-hop and new wave influences. These 9-10 minute footprints epitomize the act’s sound since their recent emergence. Also featured on the record is legendary techno producer Paco Osuna and underground French artist Chloe, who bring something new to the table with their very own remix cuts.
“On” will be released March 25th via Hommage Records.
